Oh the jewels, the gold, silver, diamonds, rubies and riches of this world, the intoxicating temptations that call unto us to try and draw us, to try and persuade us to walk on a path that is not as straight as the one that the Lord has called us to. For straight is the gate and narrow is the way which leads us to life, and few there are which find it.
Proverbs tells us that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. Oh, to find that wisdom that is far better than rubies, to find that counsel and sound mind, to find that understanding of the Lord is to find the things that become my strength and as proverbs says, “I can see that kings can rule in justice.
Wisdom says I love them that love me, those that seek me early, for they shall find riches and honor and the righteousness of God.
The fruit of wisdom shall taste sweet, yes better than gold, even fine gold. I shall inherit substance and the treasures of God’s holy word. As I seek after the Lord who the scripture says has become unto us wisdom, righteousness, sanctification and redemption in Christ Jesus.
Proverbs says to us: Hear you instruction and be wide, refuse it not; for blessed is the man who watches at the gate of wisdom, for whosoever finds wisdom finds Jesus, finds life forevermore, and finds that favor, he finds the pearl of great price.
Let us come and eat and drink of the wine of wisdom, let us come and feast on the wisdom of God’s word. Let us taste and see that the Lord is good, for in finding Him our days shall be multiplied and our years increased.
Keep on singing
